Kitchen Respray FAQs
What is the process?
We remove the doors, drawers, skirting and any easily removable items which are then prepared and sprayed in our workshop. The fixed parts; cornice, side panels, pelmet, display units etc are sprayed in situ.
How many coats do you put on?
We build up layers of primer until the kitchen looks well covered. Once dried we sand the primer and apply the top coat colour until it looks solid, normally 3 times around the kitchen.
What paint do you use?
We use a specialist polyurethane paint which is a tough, durable, tactile product which our suppliers can match to designer colours.
How do I arrange a quote?
Please give us a call to discuss your requirements or send us an email with your details and requirements
What sort of disruption should I expect?
The kitchen will be out of use when we spray the fixed parts in situ. This part of the process usually takes a day dependent on the size of the kitchen. Otherwise the kitchen is left useable though without doors and drawer fronts while we prepare and spray them at our workshop.
Do I need to empty the cupboards?
It is not necessary to empty all the cupboards as long as the contents are back far enough so that we can seal the cupboards. We do ask that any display units and work surfaces are clear though.
I want to change the worktop should I get this work done before or after?
We recommend before although we do ask please not to silicone up to any panels which require paint.
Can we change the handles?
Yes certainly and you are not restricted to the existing handle centres. We can fill the existing handle holes and drill for the new handles when we refit the doors and drawer fronts. We can also change the hinges and drawer runners.
Should we paint the walls before or after?
After. Our masking tape can pull paint from the walls or ceiling.
We would like to make some alterations and add some units can you do this as well?
Yes, we have workshop facilities to construct new units, make new panels etc
Can we deliver the doors and drawers to you?
Absolutely, we can paint them at the workshop and once ready collection can be arranged. We can provide water based paint to match your colour if there are any areas you wish to paint yourself onsite.
